This is from a thread in which a friend of mine raised a question about why the GOP are so brazen and 'smug' with what the kind of God awful things they say on TV and on the Floor of Congress . . . the Disrespect, the Racism, the blatant Obstructionism . . . ALL of it! This is what I said . . . There's some strong language!:

And let me say this: The denigration of our media and Press has made it so that vituperative lunacy and anything with gratuitous bombast . . . is the ONLY THING that get's any sort of 'repetition' in the media!
And it's sickening!!
The Democrats , for the most part, deal in the REAL, solidly planted on the ground . . . and that's unfortunately NOT 'bombastic', no matter how you slice it!
The 'loudness' is the Present Media Business Model's 'cash crop' . . . and they absolutely WILL NOT 'endanger' it by letting anything like 'the truth' get through to their audiences and subsequently 'chase away' these 'verbal Molotov cocktail throwers' from their 'clutches' . . .!
And the GOP have that figured out to a T! That is why their message get's better traction than the Left . . . it's why they get invited on more often than the left AND get 'protected' when on with a potential 'fireman from the Left' . . .! For Example:
1) I saw Maxine Waters get quickly 'shunted' by David Gregory when she started to CORRECTLY point out that the source and 'quality' of Perry's 'Texas Job Boom' that he's trying to run on . . . were MOSTLY government Jobs CREATED by the much maligned Stimulus AND that those jobs were mostly MINIMUM WAGE jobs AND that HIS administration TOOK MONEY FROM THE STIMULUS to balance Texas's budget! Gregory cut her off!
2) David Gregory AGAIN cut off Rachel Maddow in a similar Fashion opposite a few Republican and Tea Party idiots. He kept interjecting and talking over her . . . changing the subject, never quite allowing her to make her point.
3) CNN - Where to begin?? The SHAMELESS shilling for the Tea Party after the State of the union, that BULLSHIT 'debate' with the Tea Party express! Nancy Crowley and John King are worthless 'milkers' of the Tea Baggers - they allow folks to LIE! Wolf Blitzer REGULARLY cuts in 'a little too quick' when Cafferty is letting loose on these assholes!
I could go on . . .!
But they ARE smug . . . because they've got the media and mindset and tendencies of the viewing public figured out - they know what 'moves' 'us' and what we'll 'pay attention to' and know how to get the media to 'help them do just that'!
And I'm frankly frustrated as HELL at the Democrats . . . with their proper, cotillion-like approach to the GOP . . .!
Why not hire Bill Maher or someone like Allan Grayson who cannot be cowed into being 'nice' to do the Dirty Work for you?? Use Micheal Moore - deputize him!
The media loves bombast? Give it to them! But THIS 'bombast' will all be TRUE!
The Press does not want 'niceties' and 'common sense' . . . they want controversy! And considering how far to the Right all discussion has been going for the last few years . . . a 'spirited', aggressive and unapologetic 'Declaration of The Truth' WILL have the effect of being 'Controversial' . . .!
The MESSAGE MUST get out and into the Public!
For crying out loud . . . why the FUCK to I still remember Death Panels and Kill Gramma . . . but CANNOT remember a SINGLE Democratic pitch for Health Care now???
