Helpless Lamentations . . .

This whole thing is so maddening!  

No matter HOW MANY TIME DEMOCRATS AND THE PRESIDENT SAY CLEARLY THEY DO NOT WANT TO TAKE AWAY PEOPLE's WEAPONS . . .  THE GUN LOBBY SAYS:

"Don't believe them!  You KNOW that is what they REALLY want!  Wink, wink!"

How the f@&) do you convince folks like that of your benevolent intent when they have been brainwashed and stoked by fear to basically 'not hear' or even 'see' what you actually said or are doing!?

This is where our national press is SCREWING this nation into our grave!  We consume our Press subconsciously and we can't stop ourselves - with all the subliminal messages and tacit approvals and validations wrapped in their 'approach' to information and idea dissemination - we 'drink' it all down, like you swallow an aspirin.  Why?  We're 'raised' to imbibe our constitutionally protected Fourth Estate.  Consciously . . . 'conversationally' we know that the press is full of crap these days . . . but 'have no other options' that are available via an omnipresent 'osmosis' like our national media are - we consume it by just existing, living, in passing, a sound bite here, or there - it is how we remain relatively 'informed' these days!

Why not look for the other sources of info we 'intellectually' know are out there?

Most have no idea they exist, or don't have the time or energy to pursue it . . . or so they feel and/or think.  Why?  It's because life for the middle class and the poor has gotten exponentially more difficult, and time consuming, and desperate over the past few decades . . . and I don't think it's by accident.  So too has our personal freedoms seen their precipitous decline as well in the same period.

Again: It is not an accident.

I digress . . . but it is a topic for another post.

The Fourth Estate was supposed to keep us grounded as a nation in the sane and real, serve as a check for craven, ideological excesses and fear . . . So we we can, by our collective action, forge a government and, as a result, policies that reflect our collective lucidity. This Body, however, has been hollowed-out like a malignant cancer by the same interests that it was supposed to be 'regulating' . . . by THE same interests that have made life, as said before, MUCH more taxing AND who have, by their money and influence, whittled-away our rights!  So now we have a broken 'back-flow preventer' that unleashes the amped-up, super-'activated', intellectual sewage, of the Gun Lobby, Religious Right, Racists, and other Corporate Excesses into the 'open', 'trusting', 'minds' of the public, but 'deodorized' with each Press Outlet's age-old, reputable 'cologne' of legitimacy

How?

By actually allowing people like La Pierre and Others to puke feces-laden, warped ideology and 'versions of reality' UNCHECKED into the hundreds of millions of consumers nationally.  The slowly-built up 'mythology of solid objectivity' the different media outfits used to have as a stand-up body, 'politely sanitizes' the filth to us  . . . and we gladly say

"Well CNN didn't challenge that guy.  So there must be something to it . . . right?"

WRONG!!

That is what is killing this country!  All this fucking 'politeness' and 'decorum of respect' doled out to these 'American Intellectual and Ideological Al Qaida' . . . is like casting the proverbial pearls in the oozing, shit-streaked mud before hungry, crazed wild boars!

For the love of your idea of God or all that is spiritual or 'Holy', America please say:

NO!!  

These views are NOT to be 'considered' or even exposed to the light of day!  They need to be vigorously and reliably shut away!  Just like they used to be!  That doesn't happen any more  . . . and the lack of a Press of any worth, is probably THE single biggest harbinger of a Nation that might cave in on itself, and burn to ashes, as ignorance fulminates unchecked!

(Sigh . . .)

The aforementioned rant is one I've made so many times before and the truth in my angst is so clear to see.  If only the Press would at least TRY to forgo just a little money for the good of the country . . .

If only they'd return just a meager part of their now vast, multinational media empires, back to the dictates of, or to be worthy again of the Special Protections that our Founding Fathers chiseled out for them . . . . this country might organically 'fix' its informational and intellectual caliber of a deficit, within the general public virtually overnight!  I know that won't happen though because every single piece of these publicly-traded conglomerates must be squeezed for profit firstly, secondly, thirdly, . . . ad infinitum, with the nationally-altruistic meme of the Fourth Estate a functional 'Option', at best, ranking maybe in the twenties, to an ever expanding list of selfish corporate pursuits . . .!  

I could just cry in sheer seer-like frustration as

I again embark on another session of Helpless Lamentations . . .
