It IS a Republican Congress!

There was a NY Post article this morning which basically was Right Wing 'cry foul' Session about why the Democrats are increasingly calling this Congress: "The Republican Congress"

"The Obama Party Dodge" it's called and it's in the 11/3/11 "NY post Editorials Section"

I posted this response under their 'Comments' section for the article . . .

"Keep up with that grousing and misinformation, NY POST aka Murdoch's NY Mule:

Fact: Since 2007 spring the Filibuster has been used to astounding levels to block, slow down or water down any and almost all legislation. 

The only 'reprieve' the Democrats had was for a few months in 2009 . . . then Scott Brown took that seat in MA, then it was 'Filibuster As Usual' again.  To be fair the Democrats 'slept' on the MA seat and the Conservative Democrats in the House and Senate stymied much of what Obama wanted to do during the few months of 'Super majority In Name Only' as well also causing watering downs and slow downs . . . so the Democrats 'Herd of Cats' syndrome hurt them and Obama . . .

BUT . . . make NO mistake: The Republicans under the craven tutelage of McConnell, Cantor and Boehner NEVER had ANY intent on working with the President on ANYTHING. 

Countless times, he HAS used Republican ideas that many of them present in congress proposed themselves during their careers and even as recently as the previous congress to try and get some cooperation . . . but Republican's wouldn't play ball.  I KNOW they were because many on the Left were UPSET that he even PROPOSED some of them!  So don't buy this crap!

Fact: Republicans, since regaining the 41st seat in the Senate, have blocked almost EVERY single piece of jobs legislation that has come up from the house.  Unemployment insurance extensions . . . even nominees and judges have had unprecedented 'holds' on their nominations . . . so much so, the need to make a living made some of them withdraw their names!  That left and STILL leaves many key responsibilities 'un headed' to this day . . . and in disgusting hypocrisy, Republicans criticize Obama for poor performance in certain arena's despite the fact they are actually STOPPING him from remedying the situation!

Fact: McConnell was Gleeful about the Debt ceiling outcome and the position that He put the country in because he felt the Credit downgrade could be used to hurt Obama.

Never mind the fact that many states across the country NOW have had THEIR credit ratings downgraded as well BECAUSE of the manufactured BS HE and crew perpetrated on the Public . . . NOW it actually costs States MORE to borrow money . . . in the midst of this recession and fiscal issues we have.  The vote used to routine . . . but the GOP MADE IT a crisis and caused the fallout.  And that's Obama's fault?

The Republicans have demonstrated consistent and repeated craven recalcitrance and cart-blanche opposition to ANYTHING Obama has put forward, even if it was THEIR OWN proposal . . . simply because Obama 'has to sign it and might be able to list it as an accomplishment'.  Republicans have demonstrated an absolute disgusting lack of empathy for their fellow citizens and constituents, brazenly going against their wishes and NEEDS to pursue the only goal that they think matters: Getting Obama out. Republicans count on the fact, as is demonstrated by most of you on here, that the public doesn't understand or 'care' about the inner workings of Congress . . . they count on YOUR 'comfortable' IGNORANCE of basic civics . . . to push forward the nonsensical notion (and Both sides have done this by the way!) that the President can just 'do what he campaigned on' because . . . "He's the President!"

- Newsflash: OUR PRESIDENT DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME FAR REACHING POWERS LEADERS OF THE SAME NAME HAVE IN OTHER COUNTRIES . . . AND IT WAS SO BY DESIGN TO GIVE THE MAJORITY OF THE POWER TO THE ‘PEOPLE’ . . . WHICH MEANS CONGRESS!!

THE USA IS NOT RUN LIKE MONARCHY. IT IS NOT RUN LIKE A CORPORATION.  THE ONE AT THE 'VISIBLE' TOP DOES NOT HAVE MUCH POWER.

CONGRESS HAS THE POWER!

Now let me bring this rant full circle:  SINCE McConnell and crew have been blocking and basically controlling EVERYTHING that comes out of the Senate, since the end of 2009 . . . and since the Republicans NOW have control of the House since the Beginning of THIS YEAR . . .

I submit to the author, and all of you gullible folks on here: That Congress ESPECIALLY THIS YEAR . . . IS a Republican Congress!!!

Reid may have the ability to block onerous legislation like the countless anti-abortion bills and other nonsense that came from the house from being considered . . . but McConnell can and HAS stopped any other type of legislation that happened to come from the House and get through from being signed and because of the automatic Filibuster that he has been using since 2007!

The Democrats are being politically smart to do so . . . and in concert with Obama who is, for the first time in decades, exposing the inner workings of congress TO the public . . . the Public, suffering as it has been, NOW is starting to see who REALLY has been causing all their pain.  Those of you on here who lean right tend to think that the whole world thinks like you and that there is no other choice 'to be'.  That simply isn't true.  The majority of the PLANET doesn't think like 'You' . . .!

Although on empirical data - Bad Economy, unemployment being higher than 7%, etc - Obama and the Democrats SHOULD lose next year . . . don't bet on it!  There is an x-factor of unprecedented force and size spreading throughout this country that will turn all that 'trusted trending' on its head.

It's the fact that people are waking up . . . and really paying attention, the most they have in decades . . . because their personal survival depends on it!

The Occupy Movement

And your precious Republicans have NOT been on the side of the Regular Guy for some time now.  And the Regular Guy KNOWS IT . . . and becoming increasingly aware of it. 

The President is calling them out on it . . . the OWS movement is bringing it 'home' for them. 

Your article sir is a 'fear-induced' 'admission' that the 'grand plan' of undermining Obama the whole time . . . then making a whole lot of noise come election time that he hasn't 'done anything' . . . might be back firing in a big way . . . and frankly you have no idea how bad it will be . . . but you do know that it's not good for the Elephants on the hill . . . so you are trying to offset and 'pass off' some of this implied 'blame' onto the other party. 

It won’t work. 

The Democrats will get beaten up as well by the OWS movement . . . but the GOP will be MAULED by it . . . and Obama quite possibly will survive the 'culling' of the 'Do nothing Congress' . . . 

We shall see!
